Learning A Lot!

I have learned so much at the MTC!!! I thought I knew a lot about teaching but I was quickly humbled as I taught my teacher haha! My district is so amazing.  We are all super obedient and love learning!! 

I see Elder Johnson (Chase) like every day.  Haha.  Our classrooms are like down the hall from each other. 

Me and my companion have our differences but I know we were called together for a reason. We teach really well together and have 3 investigators we are teaching in the MTC! I love them all so much and it makes me happy to see them pray to our Heavenly Father and to be so eager to learn more! 

Our branch president told us that Jeffrey R Holland came a couple of months ago and he consecrated some of the buildings and he said that while missionaries are on their missions that they will have angels that watch over them.  It was a really spiritual moment and when I heard that I had an impression that Grandma LaRochelle is watching over me.  It made me cry, the spirit was so strong. 

On Tuesday we had a devotional and John Groberg came.  He is the missionary that was in The Other Side of Heaven and he was awesome.  He taught us a lot but one of the things I learned is that I'm not Chris anymore. I represent two things: my family and Jesus Christ and His church.  It helped me mature a little and remember that I'm a missionary now and that people will look up to me. 

I love it here but sometimes I wish missionaries would understand that missions aren't for making friends and having fun.  We are here to do the Lord's work.  Another district in my zone likes to goof off a lot and they don't do the work they need to and it makes me sad.  I hope one day they realize that this isn't a game.  We are talking about peoples salvation! 

I'm having a good time and I can't  wait to go out into the feild! I know, without a doubt,  that this church is true and that the Book of Mormon is true.

Elder LaRochelle 

This just in...

Well this is the first official photo of Elder LaRochelle at the MTC!  The young lady is Lauren Paravato who was a missionary we knew in Kirtland a couple of years ago.  She is currently a teacher at the MTC and was kind enough to share the photo with us on Facebook.  Thanks Lauren!

NOTE:  MTC is the Missionary Training Center adjacent to Brigham Young University in Provo, UT.   Missionaries spend a couple of weeks here before heading to their assignments.   Those learning a language will remain longer.  There are also several other training centers throughout the world.
